College Resume Score Rankings

Every resume uploaded to ConsultEdge is scored across 7 categories that mirror how MBB recruiters evaluate candidates. The score reflects both the original resume and the AI-transformed version, giving each school a fair benchmark.

Impact Evidence (30 pts) measures whether bullets contain quantified outcomes — revenue generated, costs saved, team sizes led, or timelines beaten. Recruiters at McKinsey, BCG, and Bain spend 6 seconds per resume. Concrete numbers survive that filter.

Bullet Architecture (20 pts) checks if each bullet follows the Action-Context-Result format that consulting firms expect. A strong bullet starts with a power verb, establishes scope, and ends with a measurable outcome.

Problem-Solving Signal (15 pts) looks for evidence that you identified problems, designed solutions, and drove decisions — not just executed tasks. This is what separates consulting candidates from other applicants.

Leadership and Ownership (15 pts) evaluates whether your language signals you owned outcomes rather than participated in them. "Led" beats "assisted." "Drove" beats "supported."

The remaining 20 points cover Trajectory and Selectivity (career progression signals), Consulting Relevance (industry-appropriate framing), and Formatting (clean layout, consistent structure, appropriate length).

Consulting firms recruit heavily from target schools, but resume quality varies widely within any program. A candidate from a non-target school with a 90+ score regularly outperforms target-school candidates scoring in the 60s.
