What We Collect

When you use ConsultEdge, we collect the following data:

  • Account information: Your name and email address when you register. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your Google profile ID and profile picture URL.
  • Resume text: The text extracted from your uploaded resume. The original file is deleted from our servers immediately after text extraction.
  • Transformation data: The AI-transformed version of your resume, scoring results, and coaching recommendations.

How We Process Your Data

Your resume text is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API for transformation. Anthropic does not use API input data to train their models, as per their API data policy.

We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to any third parties beyond what is necessary to provide the service.

Data Storage & Retention

  • Original files: Deleted immediately after text extraction.
  • Resume text & transformations: Stored in our encrypted database for as long as your account exists.
  • Generated documents: Stored on our servers and available for download while your account is active.
  • Payment records: Transaction references, plan purchased, and credits granted may be retained for up to 7 years after account deletion for tax and legal compliance.

Data Anonymization & Security

  • Encryption: All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest in our database (AES-256 via our database provider, Neon).
  • Anonymized analytics: When we use resume data to improve our scoring accuracy, all personally identifiable information (names, contact details, employer names) is stripped before analysis. Only structural patterns (bullet format, quantification presence, section ordering) are retained.
  • Aggregated benchmarks: School-level leaderboard scores and peer benchmarks are computed from anonymized, aggregated data. No individual resume content is exposed through these features.
  • Account deletion: When you delete your account, all resume text, transformations, scores, and generated documents are permanently removed from our database within 24 hours.

Your Data Is Never Sold

We use third-party services to operate ConsultEdge (hosting, payments, email delivery, analytics, AI processing). These providers only receive the minimum data necessary to perform their function. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

Score Delivery & Follow-Up Tips

When you upload your resume for a free score, we may use the email address from your resume to send you your scoring results, personalized improvement tips, and follow-up resources - helping you get more value even without creating an account. You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time using the link in any email.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Delete your account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your dashboard.
  • Access your data: Your transformed resumes and scores are always accessible from your dashboard.

Payment Data

All payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our Merchant of Record. When you purchase credits:

  • What Dodo collects: Your name, email, billing address, and payment method details (card number, expiry). Dodo handles all payment processing and tax compliance.
  • What we store: Your email, the plan purchased, credits granted, and a transaction reference ID. We do not store your card number or payment method details.

Cookies & Analytics

We use essential session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising networks or sell data to third parties.

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site (pages visited, time on site). Google Analytics uses cookies and collects anonymized usage data. You can opt out by using a browser extension like Google Analytics Opt-out.
